Dissuaded by Remotely Save

Remotely Save is an Obsidian third-party sync plugin that supports “S3 and its compatible storage, Dropbox, OneDrive for personal, webdev.” sync mode.

The search said: using 1 yuan 50G Tencent COS storage bucket is more stable, safer and faster than iCloud mode. I tried my heart out, tossed it all night, and almost lost all my notes… (Finally, the laptop was unlocked and the network was disconnected immediately, and the files were copied.)

The entire connection is very smooth, but the problem lies in the sequence of operations such as plug-in installation, data synchronization, library path transfer, and mobile phone synchronization, especially when the data is not completely synchronized, and the next step…

Of course, all of the above problems can be solved, and the synchronization is successful in the end. However, I still chose to endure the urine nature of iCloud and cut it back.

It was dismissed mainly for the following reasons:

  • The synchronization mechanism is not “smooth” enough without “file saving triggers synchronization”;
  • There is a series of (8) notification bars during timing synchronization, and the notes will “flicker” (reload) after synchronization, which is not “insensitive” enough;
  • The synchronization conflict is based on the last time of the file, not the “local incremental” synchronization. If multiple ends operate on the same file within the “timed synchronization” interval, it will be directly confused…

Okay, the thrilling experience is at your own leisure!
