A ministerial committee in India will meet next week to discuss imposing a goods and services tax on cryptocurrency transactions, according to people familiar with the matter. The committee, comprising India’s federal and state finance ministers, is seeking to expand the levy to effectively track virtual currencies Digital asset exchanges, people familiar with the matter said, the committee will start a two-day meeting in the northern Indian state of Chandigarh on June 28.
