NASA plans to launch Space Launch System on August 29

NASA has announced that it plans to launch the Space Launch System (SLS), a lunar rocket, on August 29. The location is at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, within the two-hour launch window from 8:33 a.m. ET. SLS is a heavy-duty rocket designed for the manned moon landing project Artemis. The launch code is Artemis I. It is an unmanned flight and will send the Orion spacecraft to the moon and return to Earth for a period of six weeks. Preparing for Artemis II for the Human Mission. America’s Artemis mission will send the first female astronaut and the first astronaut of color to the moon.
