Python tops TIOBE language popularity index

The latest TIOBE Language Popularity Index shows that Python’s top spot remains intact. Tiobe, a Dutch software quality assurance company that has tracked programming language popularity for more than two decades, focuses on enterprise-level languages, ranking based on factors such as language-related search queries, with Java and C at the top for years, but last year 10 Python jumped to No. 1 for the first time in January, and it has held that position for the next 10 months. The Python language is widely used in almost all programming fields except in the field of safety-critical embedded systems. Python is dynamically typed and too slow for embedded systems. TIOBE’s top ten languages ​​are: Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, C/C++, PHP, R, TypeScript, Swift, JavaScript, and Objective-C. The Rust language is close to 20.
