When it comes to database transactions, most people’s first reaction is ACID, but the importance and complexity of these attributes are not the same. Among them, the most difficult to understand is isolation (I, Isolation). An important reason for this understanding dilemma is that the definitions and implementations of several isolation levels have been coupled together in history, and the names and implementations of different manufacturers are often sold out. This article tries to sort out several common isolation levels from the perspective of locks, and uses relatively imprecise narratives to establish an intuitive and perceptual understanding for everyone.
