On October 12, Tencent Maps official website announced that Tencent Maps PC will stop serving on November 11, and users can download the mobile version of Tencent Maps APP to use. With this decision of Tencent Maps, only Baidu Maps and AutoNavi maps are left for PC-side maps.

According to public information, Tencent Maps is an Internet map service provided by Tencent, covering nearly 400 cities across the country. Through Tencent Maps, users can query the geographic locations of banks, hospitals, hotels, parks, etc., helping users find geographic-related life services, such as food, car services, travel, etc., and also provide bus transfer query methods and driving navigation planning functions.

In December 2013, Tencent’s SOSO map officially changed its name to Tencent Map, and has since competed with Baidu Map and AutoNavi Map. In September 2021, Sogou announced the completion of the merger with Tencent and became an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Tencent Holdings. On May 15, 2022, Sogou Maps announced that it would go offline, shut down all related services, and advised users to download Tencent Maps.

On May 11, 2022, Sogou Maps, founded in 1999, issued a notice on its official website. “Sogou Maps will be officially offline at 23:00 on May 15, 2022, and all related services will be closed at that time. Please download Tencent Maps to provide you with better services.”

At present, the top three active users of AutoNavi Map, Baidu Map and Tencent Map are 477 million, 389 million and 33.54 million respectively. With this decision of Tencent Maps, only Baidu Maps and AutoNavi maps are left for PC-side maps.
