A common problem in the workplace is – I thought I did it, but I didn’t.
For example the very common:
- I thought I told my colleague, but the colleague said no;
- I thought I had the information synced in place, but it wasn’t.
And a very simple way to solve this problem is – Double Check
For example, after you’ve spoken to a colleague, ask her to repeat the same question with her understanding. When she said it is when you do the Double Check, you can quickly find out whether you have the same understanding of the same problem, and what points you think are the same, but in fact there is no agreement.
In collaborative scenarios, context synchronization is extremely important, so you can do your job well by actively doing context synchronization. Gradually move up from a rookie in the workplace.
