Recently, Aiken (Jiangsu) Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Aiken Industry”), a steam energy management solution provider that Chuangyebang continues to pay attention to, announced the completion of nearly 100 million yuan in Series B financing, led by Zhongding Capital, and Changzhou Economic The East Industry Guidance Venture Fund of the Development Zone followed the investment. This round of financing will be mainly used for the steam system skid-mounted module, the software control system technology iteration and the commercialization of nano-insulation materials. Previously, Aiken Industry has received investment from Northern Lights Venture Capital, Xingfu Capital, Mingshi Capital, and Changzhou Service Industry Fund.

Aiken Industry has been officially operating since 2018, and is committed to providing steam energy management solutions, optimizing the use value of steam energy, helping customers reduce carbon and energy conservation, improve operational efficiency, and achieve sustainable development.

According to the United Nations Energy Agency, more than 50% of the total fossil energy consumption is for the purpose of obtaining industrial steam. Therefore, the efficient use of industrial steam energy has a direct causal relationship with the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Since its establishment, Aiken Industry has taken “low-carbon energy smart management, promoting the harmonious coexistence of man and nature” as its corporate mission, which is highly in line with China’s “dual carbon” goal.

China steam energy market

Steam has high energy density, easy transportation, easy control, and high heat transfer efficiency. Therefore, as a clean and pollution-free excellent heat carrier, steam energy is widely used in various fields. Well-known industries such as petrochemicals, batteries, photovoltaics, grain and oil, and alumina are “big consumers” of steam energy. Steam accounts for 13% to 60% of the total energy consumption of the above industries.

However, at present, the steam heat energy utilization efficiency of most domestic enterprises is not high, about 30% on average; in comparison, the steam heat energy utilization efficiency of foreign developed countries can reach 60%. According to the data provided by the Energy Conservation Information Communication Center of the State Economic and Trade Commission, the energy saving potential of China’s steam system is about 80 million tons of standard coal per year, accounting for 1/4 to 1/3 of the actual annual coal consumption.

In the field of steam application, there has been a lack of focused technical attention in China. At present, there are few software and hardware manufacturers with steam fluid control as the core business field in China, and a few foreign brands occupy the main market share of medium and high-end customers. The steam applications of other state-owned enterprises and middle and low-end customers are always in an inefficient state and lack professional steam energy management solutions.

In addition, suppliers at all levels in the domestic steam system equipment market lack a “system” concept for steam systems. Chen Zhenxiang, founder of Aiken Industry, said that “a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises are making a certain product or even a certain part in the steam system equipment”. As a result, the domestic steam system market is very fragmented, and market advantages cannot be formed when competing with foreign brands; at the same time, for customers, the construction and management demands of their steam systems cannot be well responded to, and product quality cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, Chen Zhenxiang believes that in order to improve the overall operating efficiency of the steam system and reduce losses and waste, it is necessary to provide an overall solution from the system level.

Provide overall solutions for steam energy management

Aiken Industry officially started operation in 2018, established the product and service layout of “hardware equipment + management platform + new materials”, and is committed to the smooth, efficient, safe and controllable operation of the steam system delivered to customers. Its predecessor was established in 2007, and has accumulated more than ten years of manufacturing experience in the field of steam system hardware equipment.

As a provider of steam energy management solutions, Aiken Industrial has strong design, manufacturing and integration capabilities in the hardware equipment of steam systems. Aiken Industry can not only provide customers with various types and functions of single equipment, but also deliver steam tracing systems, condensate and spent steam recovery systems, desuperheating and decompression systems, steam hot water heat exchange systems, spent steam Recycling system and overall system design solutions.

Based on a deep understanding of the process and operation characteristics of the steam system, Aiken Industrial has developed an intelligent steam management platform based on the Internet of Things, which provides functions such as energy flow visualization, real-time monitoring, real-time repair reporting and online maintenance. Essential tool for operational efficiency.

In order to solve the last “loophole” of energy waste in the steam system – heat dissipation, Aiken Industry and Fudan University established a joint experimental center for new materials to jointly develop thermal insulation materials. The thermal insulation thickness is only 3-5 mm, which can completely replace the traditional and inefficient The 60-100 mm insulation material and process achieve better energy saving effect.

It is understood that after experiencing the shortage of products and obvious bottlenecks in production capacity in 2021, Aiken Industry has begun to build a new factory and R&D laboratory covering an area of about 50,000 square meters, which will bring about a substantial increase in R&D capabilities and production capacity after it is put into use. .

At present, Aiken Industry has more than 30 full-time R&D personnel, and its core team has an average of more than 15 years of management experience in energy companies. Chen Zhenxiang has an international MBA degree from Peking University, many years of experience in fluid equipment research and development, and foreign company project management and sales experience.

Chen Zhenxiang said, “Aiken Industry has established a value symbiosis system of sustainable development with customers by providing overall solutions for steam systems, improving technological competitiveness and added value, expanding its technological influence in the industry, and forming a unique’ moat’.”

Zhu Yingchun, a partner of Bellevue Capital, said: “Zhongding Capital continues to pay attention to new supply chain innovation opportunities driven by technology and products. We have observed that China’s steam energy is still in a very extensive utilization mode. With the national energy conservation and emission reduction requirements With the implementation of policies and policies one after another, the refinement and upgrading of the steam energy system is imminent. Aiken is the only company in the industry with the advantages of systematic capabilities due to its solid industrial technology, mature products and perfect system. We are optimistic about Mr. Chen’s ‘industry veteran’ The team hopes that Aiken Industry can continue to promote the popularization and application of more efficient steam energy systems in China.”
