The Tor Project has announced the release of v1.0.0 from the Arti Project, a rewrite of the Tor server in Rust. Tor developers say their definition of v1.0.0 is production-ready; capable of real-world use with a similar degree of privacy, usability, and stability to existing Tor clients written in C; stable For embedded environments. The developers say they believe the Arti project has reached such a level of maturity that users can now connect to the Tor network using an arti proxy to anonymize network connections.
