Douyin may reportedly be listed in Hong Kong

China’s “Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily” reported today (8th), citing information obtained from the website of the Hong Kong Companies Registry, that ByteDance (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. has changed its name to Douyin Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., effective the day before yesterday.

The report also quoted information from the business inquiry platform “Tianyancha” as saying that ByteDance Co., Ltd. was renamed Douyin Co., Ltd. According to the information of the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, Beijing ByteDance Technology Co., Ltd. was renamed Beijing Douyin Information Service Co., Ltd.

ByteDance, which owns Douyin, appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO) on the 25th of last month, who will be served by Gao Zhun, a senior partner at Skadden International Law Firm. According to reports, these successive moves are believed by outsiders to be reconsidering that the company is reconsidering to list its domestic Chinese businesses such as Douyin independently as Douyin Group in Hong Kong.
