Lenovo Group releases ESG report: plans to push 95% of suppliers to set scientific carbon targets

Pinwan, August 30, Lenovo Group officially released the ESG report for the 2021/22 fiscal year. During the reporting period, Lenovo Group’s suppliers, which accounted for 28% of purchases, have pledged to join the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) or set scientific carbon targets. Lenovo Group’s long-term goal is that 95% of suppliers can implement scientific emission reduction targets.

As a global technology manufacturing company, Lenovo Group has more than 5,000 supply chain companies, and started to promote carbon emission reduction in the supply chain as early as 2012. Up to now, 94% of Lenovo Group’s suppliers have conducted third-party verification of their greenhouse gas emission data, and 92% of the suppliers have publicly disclosed greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. Lenovo plans to eliminate 1 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions from its supply chain by fiscal 2025/26. Previously, Lenovo Group was selected for the 8th time in Gartner’s 2022 Global Supply Chain Top 25, a well-known data research institution, ranking 9th, and it is the only high-tech manufacturing company in China and the Asia-Pacific region on the list.
