Discover Bank 发现银行、Schwab 嘉信银行、Chase 大通银行等美国银行正在封锁部分用户的Zelle功能

background

From the early morning to the evening of August 27, 2022, Beijing time, Discover Bank blocked a large number of Zelle functions for some users (registered Zelle after 20220301), and did not give any further information.

Previously, Discover Bank opened Zelle, I remember that it took 60 days or 90 days or half a year, and then it was cancelled. Recently, there are indeed many black companies acquiring and using this bank account.

At the same time, during the investigation, it was found that the two banks Chase and Schwab also had similar restrictive behaviors, which may have recently begun to crack down on Zelle fraud.

In the United States, Zelle is essentially equivalent to UnionPay Cloud QuickPass transfer, which is never returned, unlike ACH transfers and other methods that can be disputed (at the same time, general ACH transfers require binding first, and the WIRE and SWIFT processes are extremely cumbersome), so Like China’s telecom fraud, it is easy to be used for fraudulent activities (including incorrect goods, collecting money and running away, etc.).

If your account’s Zelle has been closed by a bank recently (maybe other banks will follow suit), don’t panic and keep your account in good shape.
